What a privilege it is to meet together and pray. God has so ordained that much of what He does in our lives and on the earth is through the vehicle of prayer. Our prayers are effectual and produce results because Our Father has established that prayer be the means in which His Kingdom will move forward and His will and purpose be done on earth as it is in heaven. If you think about it, there is no reason we should not come expecting that our prayers and our intercession be powerful. Jas 5:16 …The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working. We are righteous because of the blood of Christ, and therefore we can expect our prayers to have great power just as James says. Let’s come into our corporate prayer times expecting and believing.
We should also expect to be prophetic when we gather together for prayer. 1Co 14:3 On the other hand, the one who prophesies speaks to people for their upbuilding and encouragement and consolation. I would encourage us to come with a prophetic heart, in other words come with a heart that desires to build up, encourage, and comfort your brothers and sisters in Christ. All of us at times need to be encouraged and built up and consoled. It is the desire of the Holy Spirit that the body build up and edify the body. When we come together should we not expect and be excited for the Spirit to use us to speak an uplifting and edifying word to someone specifically or to the whole group. Let’s come into our corporate prayer times desiring to build each other up and be the body of Christ that we are meant to be……the body of the Lord Jesus Christ. That’s who we are. May we all have an ever growing desire to learn from the Holy Spirit how to be prophetic people always ready to speak words that build up, encourage, and comfort. May His Church bring honor and glory to Him by the way we love, build up and care for each other. Amen and so be it.
From my heart to yours.
